The Opportunity

Developing a sustainable pipeline of talent was a challenge that all 159 Georgia counties shared. Due to the diversity of size, resources, and industry among our counties, there were almost 159 unique needs when it came to creating a long-term workforce development plan. In partnership with Georgia Power’s Community Development and Workforce Development teams, my marketing team tackled the exciting opportunity to bring those communities together and provide shared information and customized tools that would offer unique solutions to each one. And to stay true to our brand - make it creative, memorable, and engaging!

We created a gamified, interactive exercise that served as the backbone of the summit. An asset map used relevant steps in the workforce development planning process and was accompanied by a set of 11 cards that provided additional information for each of these critical pieces of workforce planning. Working together with communities of diverse needs, participants learned from one another and expert speakers. The result was a customized plan to take back to their communities with immediate actions to take.

Another goal of this experience was to empower participants to take their new knowledge and tools back to their communities and engage key stakeholders in their workforce planning. A digital toolbox was created and shared with participants, which included a survey and CTA that supported our team’s engagement goals. Based on the survey, participants ranked this event as a top learning experience, with almost 100% stating they felt equipped to have an immediate and longer term impact on their communities.
